The DiGiCo X-A-4REA4AS is a professional audio processing system designed to place high-quality digital audio at the center of installed sound solutions. It combines powerful FPGA-based processing with an intuitive console-style software interface. The system provides extensive processing resources and redundancy capabilities for demanding professional installations. Its flexible architecture allows users to build and configure audio systems according to the requirements of their venue. High-Resolution 96 kHz Processing
The X-A-4REA4AS operates at a 96 kHz sample rate for high-resolution digital audio processing throughout the system. Its processing architecture supports up to 128 input channels, with stereo channels using two DSP channels. The system provides 48 configurable mix busses that can be assigned as mono or stereo Auxes, Groups, Matrix Busses, or FX Sends. Four dedicated stereo masters provide additional output control for multi-zone installations. This combination provides substantial processing flexibility for professional installed audio applications.
Advanced Processing and Effects
Each of the 128 × 48 processing channels provides extensive audio processing capabilities for system configuration and signal management. Processing includes high-pass and low-pass filtering, four-band parametric EQ, gate, ducker, slow ducker, and manual peak compressor functions. Each channel also provides two insert points along with input and output delay capabilities. The system includes 16 FX processors with reverbs, stereo tap delays, chorus, gated reverbs, pitch shifters, de-essers, dynamic EQs, and multiband compressors. Graphic EQ processing is also available on outputs for additional system tuning.
Flexible Networking and I/O
The X-A-4REA4AS provides extensive connectivity for integrating local I/O, remote I/O, and third-party digital audio networks. Three 8-channel SD-Rack card slots support analogue and AES connectivity with up to 32-bit conversion, while four DMI card slots provide additional expansion capability. Four A3232 ports provide 32-channel connections for remote I/O modules. The system also supports a dual redundant ASTAR port with 128 × 128 channel capacity. Network connectivity supports standards and platforms including Dante, MADI, Waves SoundGrid, Optocore, ME-1, and AES/EBU.
Multi-Zone Control and Routing
The system can operate as a point-to-point router for up to 512 channels, allowing networked channels to be routed directly between compatible devices without consuming processing capacity. The workspace can be divided into four independent zones, each with its own stereo master. User Groups and Permissions can be used to control access to individual zones and system functions. Eight programmable buttons with LED indication provide convenient access to configured system functions. Eight programmable macros can also change system configurations and recall different setups for various applications.
Cross-Platform Control and Installation
The X-A-4REA4AS uses console-style software designed to simplify system setup, control, and management for in-house technical teams. The software is compatible with macOS, Windows, iOS, and a range of tablet devices, providing flexible control options across different platforms. The system is designed to operate using standard Layer 2 network hardware without requiring complex IP or MAC address configuration. External control is supported through TCP/IP, GPIO, MIDI, and AMX/Crestron interfaces. Automatic firmware updates further simplify maintenance and help keep the system current.
