The DiGiCo X-S31-MQ combines the S31 digital mixing console with the MQ-Rack for a high-capacity MADI-based mixing system. The S31 provides 48 mono/stereo Flexi-Channels, equivalent to 96 DSP channels, along with 46 busses and 10 control groups. Its 96 kHz architecture delivers high-resolution audio with low processing latency for professional live sound applications. The console features a compact surface with three multi-touch screens and 31 motorized faders. The MQ-Rack adds 48 microphone inputs and up to 24 line outputs through BNC MADI connectivity.
Professional Mixing Surface
The X-S31-MQ features three 10-inch multi-touch screens that provide clear visual feedback and direct access to mixing parameters. Its 31 touch-sensitive motorized faders provide precise hands-on control across customizable channel banks. Touch-sensitive rotary encoders with integrated switches and Hidden Till Lit technology simplify parameter adjustment. Engineers can customize the bank layout to organize channels, auxiliaries, groups, control groups, and matrices. This provides an efficient workflow for demanding live productions.
Powerful DSP Processing
The S31 provides 48 Flexi-Channels with the equivalent of 96 DSP channels and 46 busses for complex professional mixes. Processing includes compressors, gates, dynamic EQ, graphic EQ, DiGiTuBe processing, multiband compression, and internal effects. Eight FX engines provide reverb, delay, modulation, and enhancer processing. The console also includes 21 assignable DiGiTuBes, 21 multiband compressors, and 21 dynamic EQs. This processing architecture provides extensive control without requiring large amounts of external hardware.
Flexible Local I/O
The S31 provides 24 mic/line inputs and 12 analog outputs, along with AES/EBU I/O, Word Clock, GPI, GPO, DVI output, Ethernet networking, and USB audio connectivity. Two DMI expansion slots support a range of compatible interface formats, including MADI, Dante, Waves SoundGrid, analog, AES, Aviom, and Hydra 2. Each DMI slot can support up to 64 I/O depending on the installed card. This allows the console to adapt to different stage and system configurations.
MQ MADI Stage Rack
The included MQ-Rack provides 48 microphone inputs and up to 24 line outputs in a compact 6U chassis. Four of the outputs can be switched between analog line output and AES/EBU digital output, providing additional routing flexibility. The rack uses BNC MADI connectivity and supports 48 kHz and 96 kHz operation. Its dual MADI connections can support rack sharing or digital splits at 48 kHz, while both connections can be used for full I/O access at 96 kHz. Dual redundant power supplies provide additional operational reliability.
MADI Connectivity
The X-S31-MQ uses a compatible MADI DMI interface to connect the S31 to the MQ-Rack. DiGiCo's S-Series software supports the MQ-Rack for direct access to its 48 inputs and 24 analog outputs. At 96 kHz, both MADI connections can be used to maintain access to the full 48-input channel count. At 48 kHz, the rack can also be shared between two compatible DiGiCo consoles or used for digital splits. This makes the package suitable for touring systems, live events, recording applications, and professional stage I/O.
