Description
The Elation NX W is a professional USB control surface designed as a powerful companion to the Obsidian Control Systems ONYX platform. Its ergonomic layout is comparable to the NX K and NX P, giving ONYX users an intuitive hardware interface for fast and accurate lighting control. Through its USB-C connection, the NX W connects directly to a user-provided PC running ONYX without requiring additional setup or installation.
Motorized Faders & RGB-Backlit Controls
Designed for speed and accuracy, the NX W features 10 × 60 mm motorized playback faders, each equipped with four function-assignable buttons. Ten customizable multifunction keys provide additional control flexibility, while high-speed optical buttons with RGB backlighting help ensure precise cue execution and fast keypad entry. The illuminated motorized faders clearly indicate playback type and status, making the surface easy to operate even in dark production environments.
Extensive Lighting Connectivity
The NX W provides four DMX/RDM universe inputs and outputs through 5-pin locking XLR connectors, along with a Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet connection for Art-Net, sACN, and ONYX X-Net. This extensive connectivity allows the controller to integrate directly into professional lighting networks while providing responsive data distribution and control. A USB-A expansion slot is also provided for ONYX License Keys.
Advanced Playback & Fixture Control
A dedicated Master Go section includes Go, Pause, Snap, and Release controls for streamlined playback operation. Four digital rotary encoders with push functionality and RGB status LEDs provide intuitive fixture parameter adjustment. Additional Blind, Highlight, Last, and Next controls, along with a full numerical keypad and command keys, give operators the physical controls needed for fast programming and live operation.
Portable & Expandable ONYX System
The NX W unlocks 16 universes of ONYX control when connected to an ONYX PC system, with licensing options available to expand the system up to 128 universes. Its compact 21.3" × 12.2" × 3.15" design and 13.2 lbs weight make it practical for touring, mobile production, and professional lighting control environments. Included accessories such as the desk lamp, dust cover, USB-C cable, adapters, recovery key, and locking power cable provide a complete setup for immediate use.
