Description

The JBL MTC-300BB8 is a 1 cubic foot backcan designed specifically for use with JBL Control 300 Series 8-inch drivers, which are sold separately. Its dedicated enclosure design provides a structured and secure installation environment for compatible in-ceiling loudspeakers while supporting professional commercial audio installations.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Built with extra-thick 16-gauge metal, the MTC-300BB8 provides a durable enclosure for demanding installed-audio environments. The top panel is reinforced with heavy-duty 1/2-inch MDF, adding structural support while maintaining the robust construction expected from a professional JBL installation accessory.

Flexible Cable Entry & Installation

The backcan features five 22.1 mm (0.87-inch) diameter knockout locations, including one knockout on the top panel and four on the sides of the can. This arrangement provides installers with multiple options for cable routing and system integration depending on the ceiling configuration and installation requirements.

Air-Handling Space Compliance

Designed for professional commercial installations, the MTC-300BB8 is suitable for use in air-handling spaces according to UL-2043 and UL-1480, as well as NFPA90 and NFPA70A requirements. The enclosure includes four #10 × 0.75-inch metal screws for mounting the compatible speaker baffle to the backcan.
