Descripción
The DiGiCo Little Red Box is designed to allow a single D-Rack to be shared between two compatible DiGiCo consoles using CAT5 rack connections. It eliminates the need for duplicate stage racks while simplifying multi-console system designs. The primary console retains full control of analog gains and rack outputs, while the secondary console receives the input signals. This creates an efficient workflow for professional live sound environments.
Flexible Rack Compatibility
The Little Red Box supports both DiGiCo D-Rack and MADI-based stage racks through its integrated SPLIT MADI switch. Users can easily choose whether to split a CAT5-connected D-Rack or a MADI rack depending on their system requirements. This flexibility allows the interface to adapt to a wide range of DiGiCo console configurations. It also provides an easy upgrade path for expanding existing systems.
Expanded I/O Capabilities
While a standard CAT5 rack connection is typically limited to 32 inputs and 16 outputs, the Little Red Box expands connectivity when used with compatible MADI racks. It supports up to 56 channels of input and output through the CAT5 connection, significantly increasing available I/O. This added capacity is valuable for larger productions requiring more stage connectivity. It helps maximize the capabilities of SD9, SD11, and S-Series consoles.
Reliable Console Operation
The main console maintains complete control over D-Rack analog gain settings and stage outputs, while the secondary console functions as a receive-only input device. This prevents gain conflicts between operators while maintaining stable system performance. DiGiCo's Gain Tracking technology can also be enabled to compensate automatically for gain changes. The result is smooth collaboration between Front of House and monitors engineers.
USB-Powered Convenience
The Little Red Box is powered directly through a USB connection, eliminating the need for an external power supply. A second USB pass-through port ensures that users do not lose an available USB connection during installation. This simplifies cabling while reducing rack clutter and installation time. The compact enclosure makes the interface easy to transport and deploy.
Designed for Professional DiGiCo Systems
Built specifically for the DiGiCo ecosystem, the Little Red Box integrates seamlessly with SD9, SD11, S-Series consoles, D-Racks, and MADI-C DMI-equipped systems. Its compact design and straightforward operation make it suitable for touring, broadcast, theater, houses of worship, and permanent installations. The interface improves system flexibility while maintaining dependable digital audio performance. It is an effective solution for sharing stage racks between multiple consoles.
