Returns and Refunds Policy

These rules apply to every purchase, online and in our store.

Defective or damaged items must be reported to Hollywood DJ within 24 hours of delivery or pickup.

30 Day Return Policy, Restrictions Apply

1. Refunds to your original payment method are only available within 14 days of delivery or pickup.
2. From day 15 to day 30, returns are exchange or store credit only. After 30 days, no returns.
3. Restocking fee: every return has a restocking fee of at least 15%. Hollywood DJ reserves the right to charge a restocking fee of up to 100%, based on the condition of the item.
4. Items over $2,000 are exchange only and can not be returned for a refund.
5. Special order items are not refundable. Defects are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
6. Sale and discounted items are final sale unless reported defective within 24 hours of delivery or pickup.
7. Every new item is inspected, and its serial number is logged, before the box is shipped or released for pickup. If a return is requested, the serial number must match the one we logged. We will not accept a return if it does not match.
8. Shipping charges are not refundable. Free Shipping is only free if you keep the order. The original shipping charge will be deducted from the credit or refund.
9. Any order cancellation, for any reason, has a minimum cancellation fee of 5%, no exceptions.
10. No returns of any type without an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization, the return number we give you). This includes in-store returns.

How to start a return

Within 14 days: log in to your account, open your order, and select Request Return, or start a live chat in the bottom right corner of our website. In-store customers can also come to the store with the receipt.

Day 15 to day 30: call us at 800-700-4542 to arrange your exchange or store credit.

Please have ready: customer name, invoice or receipt number, serial number, and the reason for the return.

Return Guidelines

• Item(s) must be packaged within a separate shipping box
• Item(s) must be received in "Like New" condition
• Item(s) must include all original packaging, manuals, components, accessories, etc.
• Item(s) returned with missing accessories or components are subject to a charge for the replacement
• If your shipment is returned back to us for any reason (incorrect address, refused delivery, no longer needed, not present to sign for package), we will charge a restock fee consisting of the original shipping cost + return shipping cost + return shipping fee

Buyer Inspection

Please inspect and test your gear as soon as you receive it. By completing an in-store purchase, or by not reporting a problem within 24 hours of delivery, you confirm that you have inspected the condition of every item you bought, and that every item is in the condition we agreed on at the time of sale.

Need a rental? Hollywood DJ is a small business music retailer, not a rental company. Gear that is bought, used for an event, and brought back is not a return. If you need a rental, we can make that happen for you. Call us at 800-700-4542 or visit our DJ equipment rental page. Our rental rates are very good for customers.

Defective Items

For your convenience, you will be issued a printable, pre-paid shipping label for returns within the 48 contiguous U.S. States. Once we receive your return and have validated the defect, we will repair or replace the item, or handle it through the manufacturer's warranty.

All items will be inspected (serial numbers as well) and thoroughly tested by a technician upon arrival back to Hollywood DJ. The customer will be fully responsible for all shipping costs, including return labels sent for items claimed to be damaged, defective or dead on arrival which are found to be in full working order and/or do not match the damage originally described.

Refund Timing

All returns, exchanges, and refunds are processed upon receipt. Please allow 3 weeks from the time you return your order for your refund or exchange to arrive. If paid by credit card, please allow 2 billing cycles for your credit to appear on your statement.

SureBright Protection Plan Refunds

• Cancel within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.
• After 30 days, the refund is pro-rated (you get back the unused part).
• If a claim has already been filed, the refund amount may differ.

International Orders

Orders for shipment outside of the United States are subject to additional handling charges, higher shipping rates, and applicable customs, duties, and taxes, all of which are the responsibility of the customer. All international orders must be prepaid in full with US funds, by a cashier's check drawn on a US bank or by wire transfer. HOLLYWOOD DJ only accepts credit cards issued by a US bank, and has a billing address in the US, for orders shipping to US addresses. For further assistance, feel free to Contact Us.

Hollywood DJ does not pay any postage (Incoming or outgoing, taxes, duties and/or brokerage fees) on International returns, exchanges or defective item replacements. All transportation costs including taxes, duties, additional charges, VAT's and/or brokerage fees will solely be the buyer's responsibility.

The following items are not returnable

• B-Stock, C-Stock, and Open Box merchandise
• Special order items
• Sale, discounted, and clearance items
• Software and Electronic Delivery of Software
• Discontinued products and closeouts
• DVD's / CD's
• Microphones
• Items that fall into the in mouth and in ear use category, such as mouthpieces, earphones, ear plugs, cannot be returned due to health regulations

Abuse of Return Privileges

Our return policy is in place to ensure our customers never get stuck with the wrong piece of equipment. Those who violate the spirit of our return policy by having excessive returns may be subject to limitations or suspension of return privileges.
