The DiGiCo X-SD-RACK-SMO is a professional SD-Rack configured with Single Mode OpticalCON connectivity for advanced digital audio systems. Its 14 card slots support up to 56 inputs and 56 outputs when populated with compatible interface modules. The modular architecture allows the rack to accommodate a wide selection of DiGiCo analog and digital I/O formats. This provides system designers with considerable flexibility when building large-scale audio networks. The rugged 10U chassis is designed for professional touring and installation environments. It provides a dependable foundation for high-capacity DiGiCo I/O systems.
Single Mode OpticalCON Connectivity
The X-SD-RACK-SMO uses Single Mode OpticalCON connectivity for long-distance digital audio transmission over fiber. Single Mode fiber is particularly useful in large venues, touring systems, broadcast facilities, and installations where extended transmission distances are required. The OpticalCON connection provides a secure and professional fiber interface for compatible DiGiCo systems. It can be incorporated into suitable optical network configurations for expanded system connectivity. This configuration is designed for reliable high-channel-count signal transport. It provides an effective solution for applications requiring long-range fiber infrastructure.
High-Resolution Audio Performance
The SD-Rack supports sample rates from 44.1kHz through 192kHz, providing flexibility for a wide range of professional audio applications. Its Stealth FPGA architecture supports high-quality signal processing and conversion throughout the system. At 96kHz, the rack can provide high-capacity MADI connectivity while operating through compatible optical system configurations. Integrated sample rate conversion can also be used for suitable MADI split applications. This makes the rack suitable for live sound, broadcast, recording, and system distribution. The high-resolution architecture complements DiGiCo's professional console ecosystem.
Professional Reliability
The X-SD-RACK-SMO is built for demanding professional environments with dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies. Removable power supplies and the MADI pod make routine maintenance and servicing easier. Interface cards can also be hot-swapped and automatically identified and configured by the system. A front-panel LCD display and menu controls provide convenient system monitoring and setup. Locked controls help prevent accidental changes during live operation. The rugged construction makes the rack suitable for touring and permanent installations.
Flexible System Expansion
The X-SD-RACK-SMO supports a broad range of compatible DiGiCo interface cards, including 32-bit Mic Pre, ADC, DAC, AES/EBU, AES42, Dante, ADAT, SDI, and Aviom options. The 14-slot architecture allows the system to be configured around specific input and output requirements. MADI split outputs with integrated sample rate conversion provide additional signal distribution options. The rack can operate as part of a larger optical system or as a standalone I/O solution. Its scalable architecture makes it suitable for complex production networks.
