The DiGiCo X-SD-RACK-ST is a professional SD-Rack designed to provide flexible, high-capacity audio I/O for DiGiCo SD and compatible Quantum systems. Its 14 card slots can accommodate up to 56 inputs and 56 outputs depending on the installed modules. The rack supports a wide selection of analog and digital interface cards for different production requirements. Its modular architecture makes it easy to configure the system around specific I/O needs. This provides excellent flexibility for touring, broadcast, theater, and installation applications. The rugged chassis is designed for dependable professional use.
ST Optical Connectivity
The X-SD-RACK-ST features a Standard ST optical interface for high-channel-count digital audio transmission over fiber. This provides a reliable long-distance connection between the SD-Rack and compatible DiGiCo consoles or racks. The optical interface is well suited to professional production systems requiring extended cable runs and dependable signal transport. It can be incorporated into compatible optical loop configurations for system expansion. The ST connection provides efficient transmission of professional digital audio signals.
Gain Tracking Technology
DiGiCo Gain Tracking allows multiple consoles to share the same microphone inputs while maintaining independent digital gain control. Each engineer can adjust their own mix without affecting the gain structure of other consoles connected to the system. If analog gain changes are required, Gain Tracking automatically compensates the digital gain to help maintain existing mixes. This is particularly valuable for FOH, monitor, broadcast, and recording applications. It provides greater control when multiple engineers share the same stage inputs. The result is a more flexible and reliable multi-console workflow.
High-Resolution Audio
The SD-Rack supports sample rates ranging from 44.1kHz to 192kHz, making it suitable for high-resolution professional audio applications. Its Stealth FPGA technology delivers high-quality signal processing and conversion while maintaining the sonic performance associated with DiGiCo systems. The rack can operate at 96kHz over an optical loop while providing a down-sampled MADI feed when required. This makes it useful for broadcast splits and other distribution applications. Engineers can configure the rack for different production and signal-routing requirements.
Professional Reliability
The X-SD-RACK-ST is built for demanding production environments with dual redundant, hot-swappable power supplies. The removable power supplies and MADI pod simplify cleaning, maintenance, and servicing. Interface cards can also be hot-swapped and automatically recognized by the system. An LCD menu display and dedicated controls provide straightforward system monitoring and configuration. Locked controls help prevent accidental changes during live operation.
Flexible System Expansion
The rack supports a broad range of DiGiCo interface cards, including 32-bit microphone preamps, ADC, DAC, AES/EBU, Dante, AES42, ADAT, SDI, and Aviom formats. Up to 14 I/O racks can operate on a single optical loop, with larger systems possible through dual-loop configurations. The X-SD-RACK-ST can also provide MADI split outputs with integrated sample rate conversion for additional system distribution. Its flexible architecture allows engineers and system designers to build scalable audio networks. The rack can even be used as a standalone I/O solution.
