The DiGiCo X-SD-RACK is a standard SD-Rack configuration designed to provide flexible, high-capacity digital I/O for professional DiGiCo systems. Its 14 card slots provide the foundation for up to 56 inputs and 56 outputs when populated with compatible interface cards. The rack uses DiGiCo's proven Stealth FPGA technology for high-quality signal processing and conversion. Its modular design allows the system to be configured for different production requirements. The rugged 10U chassis is suitable for touring and permanent installations. This makes the SD-Rack a versatile solution for demanding professional audio environments.
MADI-Only Connectivity
The X-SD-RACK is configured for MADI connectivity without an optical interface, providing a straightforward digital connection to compatible DiGiCo consoles and systems. Dual MADI inputs and outputs allow flexible signal routing and can provide redundant connections when operating at 48kHz. At 96kHz, the dual MADI ports can carry the full 56-channel capacity of the rack. MADI split outputs are also available for distributing signals to additional systems. This makes the configuration particularly useful for recording, broadcast, and live sound applications. The MADI-only design provides dependable digital audio transport without unnecessary connectivity options.
High-Resolution Performance
The X-SD-RACK supports professional sample rates from 44.1kHz through 192kHz, providing flexibility for different audio applications. Its Stealth FPGA architecture is designed to deliver high-quality processing and conversion across the entire signal path. At 96kHz, the rack can provide full 56-channel MADI connectivity through its dual MADI ports. Integrated sample rate conversion can also be used for MADI split outputs where required. This makes the rack suitable for live sound, recording, broadcast, and system distribution. Its high-resolution architecture complements the performance of DiGiCo SD and compatible Quantum consoles.
Touring-Ready Reliability
Built for professional production environments, the SD-Rack features dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies for improved system reliability. The removable PSUs and MADI pod simplify maintenance and servicing when required. Interface cards are hot-swappable and automatically identified and configured by the system. A front-panel LCD and menu controls provide convenient system monitoring and configuration. Locked controls help prevent accidental changes during operation. The rugged construction is designed to withstand the demands of touring and professional installations.
Flexible Signal Distribution
The X-SD-RACK provides extensive signal distribution capabilities through its MADI interfaces and split outputs. Its internal sample rate conversion can create a down-sampled MADI feed for applications such as broadcast or recording splits. The rack can operate as part of a larger DiGiCo system or as a standalone I/O rack. Its 14 module slots allow a wide range of compatible input and output cards to be installed. Multiple racks can also be integrated into larger DiGiCo system configurations. This provides engineers and system designers with a scalable platform for complex audio networks.
