What is F31 single tube truss?
F31 is a single length of aluminum tube with a conical connector at each end, 2 mm wall, sized to the same lengths as the rest of the F-series so it drops into the same corners and bases. Strictly it is not a truss at all: there is no bracing and no second chord, just a beam. That is the point. It is the lightest and cheapest way to get a straight horizontal line into a rig.
What is F31 actually for?
Decorative and light-duty work. A short bar of small LED fixtures. Uprights and verticals in a mobile DJ frame. Drape and pipe-and-drape support. Signage, florals and backdrop framing at weddings and corporate events. Circular and arc kits, where single tube is bent into shape and the load is the decoration itself. It is a finishing element, not a structural one.
What F31 is not for
Do not hang moving heads, line array, video wall or any significant weight from single tube, and do not use it to span a gap that people stand under. Unbraced tube deflects under load far sooner than a two or four-chord truss, and it has no redundancy: there is one member, and if it bends, the run comes down. If you find yourself calculating whether F31 will take the weight, the answer is that you want F32 or F34 instead.

Brands are ProX XT-S and Global Truss F31. The four-piece packs are the usual choice for a portable DJ frame, since a goalpost needs two uprights and a header plus a spare.
