What is Global Truss?
Global Truss is one of the two or three aluminum truss systems you will find on almost every stage, trade show floor and mobile DJ rig in the United States. Its F-series uses conical connectors, a tapered pin-and-socket joint that pulls two segments tight into a single continuous run, and that connector is what makes the system modular: any F34 segment mates to any other F34 segment regardless of length. Hollywood DJ carries 629 Global Truss line items and stocks them in downtown Los Angeles.
F31, F32 and F34: what is the difference?
The number after the F tells you how many chords, meaning load-bearing tubes, the truss has. More chords means a stiffer truss that carries more over a longer span, and also more weight and more money.

All three use 2 mm wall tube and conical connectors in the segments we stock. F34 is the default choice for anything structural. F32 saves weight on a straight fixture run. F31 is for light decorative work, not for hanging a rig.
How much weight can Global Truss hold?
There is no single number, and you should be suspicious of any retailer who gives you one. Working load depends on the span between supports, whether the load is a point load or spread evenly, how the truss is supported, and the specific part number. Global Truss publishes a load table for each series and length, and that table is the only figure to rig from. If you are close to the limit, or the rig is over people, bring in a qualified rigger. Can I mix Global Truss with ProX or Show Solutions?
Within the same series, these brands are built to the same conical interface and are widely used together in the field. That said, mixing brands in one structural span is a decision to make deliberately: tolerances, wall thickness and hardware can differ, and a manufacturer's load table applies to its own product. For a decorative arch it rarely matters. For a loaded goalpost or anything overhead, stay in one brand and one series.
Does truss ship freight, and do you have it in Los Angeles?
Most truss ships LTL freight rather than parcel, because segments are long and the packaging is oversized. Freight needs a quote and a delivery appointment, so call us and we will price it with the order. Everything is stocked at our warehouse at 934 E 11th St, Los Angeles, CA 90021, and local customers can pick up. Accessories, clamps and hardware ship parcel and go out the same day when ordered by noon PST.
