The Fostex T50RPmk4g+ puts Fostex's fourth-generation RP planar magnetic driver into a gaming headset, which Fostex describes as the fastest response in its history for a gaming headset thanks to the planar diaphragm's transient behaviour and its ability to reproduce instantaneous sound contours. Footsteps, reloads, and directional cues arrive with sharp leading edges rather than smeared bass.

The semi-open housing keeps the soundstage open for positional awareness, and the detachable omnidirectional condenser boom microphone mounts on either ear cup, with an inline controller for mute and volume so voice chat works the same way for left- or right-handed setups.

Detachable Boom Microphone with Inline Controller

The T50RPmk4g+ ships with a microphone cable carrying a detachable electret condenser boom mic with an omnidirectional pickup pattern. An inline controller handles microphone mute on and off plus volume. The cable plugs into either the left or the right ear cup, so the microphone can sit on whichever side suits you.

4th Generation RP Series Driver

A new printed coil pattern shape has been employed to expand and equalize the vibration area of the flat diaphragm. The number of magnets that sandwich the diaphragm has been increased substantially, and the components of the magnetic circuit have been redesigned to optimize their magnetic flux distribution, suppressing unnecessary resonance and achieving even better transient response. The fourth-generation driver simultaneously achieves improved sensitivity, smooth frequency response, and superb transient characteristics, and is more efficient, requiring less power from the headphone amplifier to reach peak performance.

Comfortable Ear Pads

The thick ear pads feature a low-resilience, around-ear type that provides a comfortable fit, which does not compromise the immersive experience even when gaming for long periods of time.
