The AKG C214 Matched Pair combines the detailed sonic character of the renowned C414 XLII with a cost-effective large-diaphragm condenser microphone design. Each microphone uses a capsule derived from the legendary C414 dual-capsule system together with AKG Back-Plate Technology to deliver detailed and consistent audio performance for professional recording applications.
This factory-matched pair is selected from thousands of individual microphones using AKG's computer-aided matching process. The matching process provides closely correlated frequency response and virtually identical sensitivity between the two microphones, making the pair well suited for accurate stereo recording and three-dimensional sound capture.
Each C214 features a switchable 20 dB preattenuation pad and 160 Hz bass-cut filter for close-up recording and proximity-effect reduction. The integrated suspension helps reduce mechanical noise and vibration, while the rugged all-metal body provides durability for studio, stage, and professional production environments.
