Descripción
The DiGiCo MGO Optical MADI SoundGrid Interface connects MADI-equipped digital audio devices to a Waves SoundGrid network for high-channel-count recording, playback, and real-time plugin processing. Its optical MADI connectivity provides a flexible solution for professional live sound, broadcast, and recording systems. The compact interface can connect directly to a computer through Gigabit Ethernet or be expanded with SoundGrid processing hardware for larger production workflows.
Optical MADI Connectivity
The MGO features optical MADI I/O using SFP optical transceivers, allowing compatible MADI equipment to connect to SoundGrid systems. Standard multimode transceivers are supported, while optional single-mode transceivers can be installed when longer optical fiber runs are required.
High Channel Capacity
At 48kHz, the MGO supports up to 112 or 128 channels of MADI I/O. At 96kHz, it supports 56 or 64 channels, providing high channel density for professional recording, playback, and processing applications.
Low-Latency SoundGrid Processing
When integrated with a SoundGrid network and compatible Waves processing hardware, the MGO provides approximately 0.8 ms system latency. This allows engineers to route MADI audio through Waves and compatible third-party plugins for real-time processing.
Dual Computer Recording
The MGO supports recording to two computers simultaneously. This allows one computer to be used for virtual soundcheck or primary recording while the second computer provides a backup recording system.
96kHz Operation
The MGO supports 96kHz operation with both 56- and 64-channel modes. Double-wire operation using a 48kHz frame and single-wire operation using a 96kHz frame are supported for high-resolution MADI applications.
Flexible Clock Synchronization
Clock synchronization can be sourced from Word Clock input, MADI Port A, SoundGrid synchronization over Ethernet, or the internal clock. The control panel provides access to clock source, sample rate, synchronization status, SMUX, and high-speed operating modes.
Professional SoundGrid Compatibility
The MGO integrates with Waves production environments including SuperRack, MultiRack, eMotion LV1, and SoundGrid Studio. It provides a practical connection between MADI-based consoles or interfaces and computer-based SoundGrid processing systems.
