The DiGiCo UB-MADI-P is a compact professional USB-to-MADI audio interface designed to provide reliable 48-channel digital audio connectivity between a computer and MADI-equipped systems. Using USB 2.0, the unit delivers 48 channels of simultaneous input and output at 48 kHz while maintaining low latency and stable performance. Its bus-powered design eliminates the need for a separate power supply, making it well suited to mobile recording and live production applications.
48-Channel Digital Audio
The UB-MADI-P provides 48 channels of simultaneous audio input and output at 48 kHz. Its SD7-derived FPGA and onboard 500 MHz dual-core processing architecture provide the processing power required for dependable multichannel audio transfer. The interface is suitable for recording, playback, virtual soundchecks, and other professional digital audio workflows.
USB Connectivity
The unit connects to compatible Windows or Macintosh computers through USB 2.0. UB-MADI is fully hot-pluggable, allowing audio to begin flowing shortly after connection without requiring a computer restart. The USB connection also supplies operating power, simplifying setup and reducing the number of cables required in mobile systems.
MADI and AES3 Support
UB-MADI can receive the first 48 channels of an AES10-compliant MADI stream and supports coaxial AES3, also known as AES/EBU, stereo audio. This provides flexible connectivity with professional digital consoles, recorders, and other compatible equipment. The fully digital signal path maintains reliable audio transfer without depending on the computer's USB data clock for audio timing.
Professional Clocking
The UB-MADI-P incorporates a highly stable internal clock for standalone operation. When a valid MADI, AES3, or Word Clock signal is detected at the input, the interface can use the incoming signal as the system clock. This provides dependable synchronization for professional recording and playback applications.
Portable Professional Design
