The Elation ONYX Elite Upgrade is a virtual software upgrade designed for ONYX Premier and NX Wing systems, expanding compatible ONYX PC configurations to support up to 128 ONYX Universes. It provides a scalable solution for professional lighting programmers who need greater universe capacity without replacing their existing ONYX hardware.
Advanced Control & Creative Capabilities
Beyond the increased universe capacity, the ONYX Elite upgrade unlocks 5 DyLOS Zones along with OSC, MIDI, and Timecode functionality. These additional capabilities provide greater flexibility for advanced lighting control, show synchronization, media integration, and complex programming workflows.
USB License Activation
The upgrade connects through USB to an ONYX Premier or NX Wing, providing a virtual license expansion rather than a separate physical lighting controller. Once applied to a compatible system, the Elite license enables the additional ONYX capabilities and expanded universe capacity.
Professional System Requirements
The ONYX Elite Upgrade is designed for Windows-based ONYX PC systems and requires Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit, an Intel Core i7 6th Generation or newer processor, 8 GB RAM, an SSD drive, and at least 40 GB of available disk space. A widescreen monitor with a minimum resolution of 1280 × 768 is also required, with capacitive multi-touch recommended.
Network & Software Connectivity
Compatible systems require a USB 2.0 port, along with 10/100 Ethernet for Art-Net DMX output and 100/1000 Ethernet for X-Net, remote operation, and sACN. The upgrade is supplied as an ONYX Elite Upgrade File, providing a convenient way to expand an existing ONYX setup.
