DJ Facade Buying Guide

What is a DJ facade?

A DJ facade is a folding frame covered in fabric panels, called scrims, that stands in front of a DJ table to hide cables, stands, cases and table legs. Full-size facades stand on the floor and are about 46 to 48 inches tall. Tabletop facades, such as the 16-inch-tall Odyssey SWFTT5816B, sit on top of a standard 6 ft banquet table. White scrims can be lit from behind; black scrims give a clean, low-key look.

How much does a DJ facade cost?

At Hollywood DJ, tabletop facades start under $200, full-size folding facades with scrims run about $320 to $590, and facade booths with a built-in table run about $390 to $680. Each product page shows the current price.

Which DJ facade fits a 6 ft table?

For the top of the table, use a tabletop facade made for a standard 6 ft banquet table, such as the Odyssey SWFTT5816B (58 inches wide and 16 inches tall, in four hinged sections) or the ProX XF-TTFB 6 ft tabletop facade, which comes with black and white scrims and sets up without tools. For a full-size facade in front of the table, compare the facade's set-up width with your table: the Odyssey SWF7246BLK sets up 72 inches wide, 24 inches deep and 46 inches tall, and its center sections can be combined with a second set of the same height for a wider front.

Do I need a separate table?

With a facade, yes: it goes in front of a table or stand you already own (see our DJ tables). A facade booth has its own work surface. The ProX Vista weighs 42 lbs and has a 39.5 x 19 inch table 37 inches from the floor, which ProX rates to hold up to 100 lbs evenly distributed. The ProX MESA MK2 uses a four-sided folding frame, and ProX rates its table to hold up to 150 lbs evenly distributed. Both include black and white scrims and a padded carry bag, and ProX says each sets up in under 5 minutes.

Disclaimer: Hollywood DJ provides weight ratings as each manufacturer publishes them, for general reference only. Stay within the rating for your model and follow the manufacturer's setup instructions.

Can I put lights behind a DJ facade?

Yes. White scrims are made to be lit from behind: place uplights or wash lights inside the facade and the panels glow in any color. Odyssey's Scrim Werks facades use fire-retardant-treated, dual-layer scrims, and ProX's 5-panel and tabletop facades and the Gator GFW-DJFACADE come with both black and white scrims, so you can change the look between events.

How do I clean facade scrims?

ProX's tabletop and 5-panel facade scrims are machine washable, and ProX recommends air drying the tabletop scrims. Odyssey Scrim Werks scrims come off with a screwdriver for cleaning. Gator's stretch scrims are removable. Headliner universal replacement scrims are in our facade scrims collection.

Facade, booth or podium?

A facade dresses up a table you already own. A DJ booth combines the work surface and the front panels in one folding unit. A DJ podium is a freestanding workstation built around your controller, often with rack space, such as the Headliner Malibu with 18U of 19-inch rack space. Compare them in our DJ Booths & Podiums collection.
