Description

The AKG C314 Matched Pair is a professional multi-pattern condenser microphone set designed to capture vocals, instruments, and studio performances with exceptional clarity and consistency. Its 1-inch dual-diaphragm capsule draws on the heritage of the AKG C414 XLS, while a full 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency range and extremely low self-noise preserve subtle details and dynamics.

With four selectable polar patterns—cardioid, supercardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8—the C314 adapts easily to a wide range of recording applications. Cardioid provides focused pickup, supercardioid can help reduce unwanted spill, omnidirectional captures a more open response, and figure-8 allows controlled pickup from both sides of the microphone.

Each matched pair is selected from thousands of individual microphones using AKG's computer-aided matching process. This delivers highly consistent sensitivity and polar-pattern correlation across the frequency range, making the C314 pair well suited for three-dimensional stereo recording. An overload detection LED, 20 dB attenuation pad, bass-cut filter, and integrated capsule suspension provide additional control for demanding studio and stage environments.
