Description
The Fostex TH1000RPmk2 is the flagship evolution of Fostex's premium RP headphone platform, combining advanced planar magnetic technology with traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Its Premium RP driver uses a large fully driven planar diaphragm refined through air damping control and optimized magnetic circuitry to achieve accurate diaphragm movement, high sensitivity, smooth frequency response, and exceptional transient performance. The result is highly detailed reproduction with precise localization and faithful expression from the low frequencies through the high frequencies.
The headphone features a solid hard maple wood housing finished by skilled Awa Indigo craftsmen using traditional Hon-ai natural indigo dye. Each housing is individually hand-dyed, allowing the natural grain and deep indigo coloration of the maple to remain visible while giving every headphone a distinctive appearance. The dense maple construction is designed to minimize unnecessary tonal coloration while supporting powerful low-frequency reproduction and clear, resonant high frequencies.
The TH1000RPmk2 also introduces redesigned ear pads with a sloped contact surface and a two-layer internal foam structure for improved comfort during extended listening. Lightweight magnesium alloy mechanical components help reduce weight while rubber packing minimizes unwanted vibration, and the natural sheepskin head pad and headband provide a supple fit. Dual 2-pole 3.5 mm connectors make recabling convenient, while the included 7N high-purity OFC unbalanced cable provides high-quality signal transmission. A dedicated 4.4 mm balanced cable is also available separately.
