Description
The Blizzard Cable Guy is a multi-format cable tester built for lighting designers and stage technicians. Plug a cable into each side, and the tester loops through the connections and shows the result on LEDs: matching LEDs on both sides mean continuity, while mismatched or unlit LEDs point to a problem. It supports 10 connector types, including 3-pin and 5-pin XLR, 1/4" and 1/8" TRS, HDMI, RJ45 (EtherCON), BNC, RCA, and powerCON.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which cables can the Blizzard Cable Guy test?
1/4" TRS, 1/8" TRS, 3-pin XLR, 5-pin XLR, BNC, HDMI, powerCON, powerCON TRUE1, RCA, and RJ45 (EtherCON).
How does it work?
Plug one end of the cable into each side of the tester. It loops through the possible connections and lights LEDs for the result. Matching LEDs on both sides mean the connection is good. Mismatched or unlit LEDs mean there is a problem.
Can I test a cable that is already installed in a wall?
Yes. The sender and receiver are separate units, so you can test wires through walls or between rooms.
Can it test DMX cables?
Yes. It supports both 3-pin and 5-pin XLR connectors, the two most common DMX connector types.
What batteries does it need?
Two 9V batteries. These are not included.
How big and heavy is it?
1.3 × 7.5 × 5 in (33 × 191 × 127 mm) and 2.35 lb (1.07 kg).
