The CAD 40-118 Portable Desk Base for Gooseneck Microphones is designed to conveniently mount the Astatic 800 and 900 series gooseneck microphones, or any third-party miniature gooseneck microphone with a standard 3-pin XLR connection. Its portable design allows for quick and easy setup on podiums, desktops, and more. A large soft-touch programmable switch provides Push-to-Talk and Push-to-Mute modes, with four operational options selectable via DIP switches on the underside of the base. The integrated LED indicator clearly shows when the microphone is active, even in low-light environments. For reliable performance, the rugged four-conductor, two-shielded 7' (2.13m) cable is terminated with a professional 3-pin male XLR connector, ensuring balanced audio. A rubber shock-resistant base with CAD’s special energy-absorbing compound minimizes vibration noise, while two keyholes allow for optional permanent mounting. The CAD 40118 is an ideal choice for podiums, courtrooms, conference rooms, houses of worship, and other professional applications requiring clear, reliable microphone support.
