Its cardioid pickup pattern minimizes feedback when used near sound reinforcement speakers and monitors, while also reducing unwanted off-axis sounds. A transformerless electronic design ensures optimum low-frequency response with low distortion, and the internal multistage pop filter effectively reduces wind and breath noise. The Flex-Form hardened steel grille resists deformation and protects performance even if the grille is bent or dented, maintaining both function and appearance. Featuring the exclusive CAD I.N.R.-3 Impact Noise Rejection system, the transducer is isolated from the barrel with a proprietary rubber shock mount to dramatically reduce cable, stand, and handling noise, eliminating the need for external shock mounting devices. The microphone also benefits from proximity effect, where the low-frequency response increases as the distance to the sound source decreases, creating a fuller and more robust sound. At 24 inches or more, the microphone delivers a nominal flat response, while closer use enhances bass presence. The CAD C195 comes complete with a zippered vinyl protective pouch and a snap-in swivel mount for secure placement.
