Description

The DiGiCo MOD-DMI-ADC is a professional analog-to-digital converter card designed to expand the local I/O capacity of compatible DiGiCo systems. It provides 16 analog line-level inputs through two 25-way D connectors. The card is specifically designed for line-level sources rather than microphone-level signals. This makes it suitable for connecting professional audio equipment such as external processors, playback systems, mixers, and other line-level sources. The DMI-ADC integrates directly into compatible DiGiCo systems for streamlined digital audio processing. Its 16-channel capacity provides an efficient solution for expanding available analog inputs.

Line-Level Input Design

The MOD-DMI-ADC is a dedicated line-level input card and does not include microphone preamplifiers. It therefore does not provide microphone gain control or phantom power for connected sources. The card is intended for professional line-level signals that already have an appropriate operating level. A maximum input level of +22 dBu provides substantial headroom for high-level professional audio sources. This design keeps the signal path straightforward while providing reliable analog-to-digital conversion. It is particularly useful where additional line inputs are required rather than microphone preamp channels.

Digital Trim Control

Although the MOD-DMI-ADC does not provide analog input gain control, incoming signals can be adjusted using digital trim. This allows engineers to make level adjustments within the digital processing environment after conversion. Digital trim provides convenient control directly from the compatible DiGiCo console or system interface. This approach is useful when connected sources already provide their own appropriate analog output levels. It also keeps the analog input circuitry optimized for professional line-level operation. The result is a simple and efficient workflow for managing additional analog inputs.

Dual D-Connector Connectivity

The MOD-DMI-ADC uses two 25-way D connectors to provide its complete 16-channel analog input interface. This compact connector arrangement allows multiple analog channels to be integrated into a relatively small modular card. The two connectors provide convenient access to all 16 input channels within compatible system configurations. The D connector format is suited to professional installation and structured audio cabling. It provides a practical connection solution for integrating multiple analog sources into a DiGiCo system. This makes the card particularly useful for applications requiring high-density analog I/O.

DiGiCo System Integration

This Card is designed to integrate directly with compatible DiGiCo systems and provides additional local analog inputs without requiring a separate external interface. It is compatible with S-Series, Quantum Range, SD12, Orange Box, and 4REA4 systems. The modular DMI format allows the card to be incorporated into supported hardware configurations. This provides engineers with a flexible method of expanding available analog input capacity. Its line-level architecture complements systems that already have dedicated microphone preamp resources. The card is suitable for professional live sound, touring, broadcast, recording, and installation applications.

Professional Analog-to-Digital Conversion

This Card provides a straightforward solution for converting 16 analog line-level sources into the digital audio environment. Its professional line-level input design is intended for reliable integration with compatible DiGiCo processing systems. The absence of unnecessary microphone preamp circuitry makes the card well suited to fixed-level or externally preamplified sources. Digital trim provides additional flexibility for optimizing levels after conversion. The compact dual-connector configuration simplifies high-channel-count analog connectivity. Overall, this Card provides a practical solution for expanding analog line input capacity in professional DiGiCo systems.
