At its core, the headphone is equipped with the original RP diaphragm, made of highly heat-resistant polyimide film as the base material and etched with copper foil. Unlike conventional dynamic types, the T40RPmk3n employs a planar diaphragm based on the “RP” (Regular Phase) method, delivering an evolved version of the unique planar sound that stands apart from traditional designs.

Magnetic Circuit

A key component of the headphone is its magnetic circuit. The RP magnetic circuit achieves high effective magnetic flux density by repelling the upper and lower magnets, sandwiching the diaphragm in between. This arrangement creates a symmetrical magnetic flux density distribution along the diaphragm’s vibration direction, resulting in excellent linearity. The use of a rod-shaped neodymium magnet further enhances magnetic flux density, boosting efficiency and overall performance.

Sound Characteristics

The headphone offers wide playback bandwidth, excellent transient characteristics, and high input resistance up to 3,000mW, making it suitable for a variety of music sources with ease. Its printed coil, designed in a zigzag pattern, ensures uniform vertical and horizontal movement of the diaphragm without distortion, which increases detail reproduction in the mid and high frequency ranges and delivers lifelike vocal performance. Copper foil is used as the coil material to improve sound quality, while the polyimide base provides high heat resistance and the durability necessary for professional use.
