Housed in solid hard maple wood finished with traditional Awa Aizome indigo dye from Tokushima, these headphones combine Japanese artistry with Fostex’s acclaimed audio engineering. Each housing is hand-dyed over several days with genuine natural indigo, resulting in a unique deep blue texture that highlights the wood grain - no two pairs are alike.
At the heart of the TH1100RP is Fostex’s proprietary RP (Regular Phase) planar magnetic technology, first introduced in 1974 and continuously refined. The newly developed, larger diaphragm is paired with enhanced magnets, redesigned coil patterns, and optimized magnetic circuit components to minimize resonance. The result is high sensitivity, smooth frequency response, and precise imaging, delivering everything from powerful bass to delicate treble with natural clarity
The headphone structure features lightweight magnesium alloy components, reducing weight by 20% compared to aluminum while suppressing vibration. The new asymmetrical ear pads, made from low-resilience cushions and silk protein synthetic leather, ensure long-lasting comfort. A natural sheepskin head pad and headband provide a luxurious fit, while the detachable 7N high-purity OFC cable with rhodium-plated connectors guarantees high-performance transmission.
