The Fostex TH-616 is a limited-edition headphone created to celebrate Fostex’s 50th anniversary. Hand-assembled in Japan, it features a unique open-back housing crafted from solid black walnut, carved in a design inspired by the luminous glow of sunlight filtering through trees. Each pair showcases its own natural wood grain, making every unit one-of-a-kind.

Equipped with a 50mm dynamic driver featuring a 1 Tesla magnetic circuit and Fostex’s proprietary BioDyna diaphragm made from ultra-fine bio-cellulose fibers, the TH616 achieves rich bass, detailed mids, and beautifully extended highs with high resolution and low distortion. The open-aperture design not only provides a natural and spacious sound but also minimizes resonance by using apertures of varying sizes, reducing unwanted vibrations.

Lightweight aluminum mechanical parts and high-density resin baffles enhance durability while suppressing resonance for clean audio reproduction. The detachable 3m HiFC pure copper cable with rhodium-plated connectors ensures high conductivity and reliable performance, while the soft artificial leather pads with low-resilience cushions offer long-lasting comfort and effective sound insulation.
