The JBL Control 68HP Pair is a high-power full-range two-way pendant loudspeaker system designed for open-architecture ceilings, live spaces, and commercial environments where high output and clear sound reproduction are required. Each speaker features a 209 mm 8-inch Kevlar-reinforced low-frequency driver with a 50 mm 2-inch CCAW voice coil and fiberglass voice coil former for reliable power handling. A coaxially mounted 25 mm 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver provides detailed high-frequency reproduction and enhanced output capability. The pair is well suited for retail spaces, hospitality venues, fitness centers, convention centers, exhibit spaces, conference rooms, atriums, museums, and transit centers.
Each Control 68HP provides multiple power-handling levels, including 150W continuous pink-noise power with 600W peaks for 100 hours, 250W continuous pink-noise power with 1000W peaks for 2 hours, and 500W continuous program power for 2 hours. The 8-ohm design also supports 70V/100V distributed audio through its built-in 68W multi-tap transformer, with 68W, 34W, 17W, and 8.5W taps at 70V and 68W, 34W, and 17W taps at 100V. With 90 dB sensitivity, 110° conical coverage, and maximum SPL of 114 dB continuous pink noise and 120 dB peak, the speakers provide high-output performance with consistent coverage.
Each speaker features a high-impact polystyrene enclosure and is available in black or white with a stylish pendant design. Two complete 15-foot high-tensile galvanized steel suspension cable systems are included with each speaker, providing both main and safety suspension. Spring clips and adjustable cable fasteners allow flexible installation height while supporting a safe working load of 99 lbs. The JBL Control 68HP Pair combines high power handling, coaxial two-way performance, flexible transformer operation, constant-directivity coverage, and secure suspension for demanding commercial sound installations.
