The JBL Control 23-1 Pair is a compact two-way loudspeaker system designed for high-quality background and foreground music, paging, and speech applications. Each speaker combines a 3-inch woven-fiberglass woofer with a 0.5-inch PEI diaphragm tweeter with fluid cooling to provide clear, natural sound across a broad 70 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range. Its compact design makes the pair suitable for retail stores, restaurants, hospitality venues, educational facilities, health clubs, theme parks, and leisure spaces.
The Control 23-1 provides a wide 100° horizontal by 100° vertical coverage pattern for consistent sound distribution. It offers 50W power handling with 100W continuous program capability in direct 8-ohm operation, while the integrated 15W multi-tap transformer supports 70V and 100V distributed audio systems. A 70 Hz protective high-pass filter is recommended for both low-impedance and distributed applications.
Built for demanding installation environments, the Control 23-1 features a weather-resistant enclosure and transducers with IP-44 outdoor capability, which can be increased to IP-55 with the optional WeatherMax grille and protective panel covers. The included InvisiBall wall-mounting system provides flexible positioning, while the contemporary enclosure design blends easily into commercial, hospitality, and outdoor environments.
