The JBL Control 40CS/T Pair provides a high-impact in-ceiling subwoofer solution for applications requiring extended bass response and superior sonic performance with minimal visual impact. Each 8-inch subwoofer uses a direct-radiating design to produce powerful low frequencies from 32 Hz to 300 Hz, making the pair well suited for music systems where deeper and more authoritative bass is required.
A built-in passive crossover network allows the Control 40CS/T to be used as part of an easy-to-install subwoofer-satellite system. When combined with compatible Control 42C satellite speakers, the pair creates a natural-sounding and powerful full-range system while keeping the loudspeakers discreetly integrated into the ceiling. The subwoofers can also be incorporated into larger Control Contractor in-ceiling systems using an active crossover configuration.
The Control 40CS/T supports both distributed 70V/100V operation and low-impedance direct mode, providing flexibility for different commercial audio installations. Its 80W, 40W, 20W, and 10W at 70V transformer taps allow the system to be matched to available amplifier power and coverage requirements. Included C-rings, tile rails, paint shield, cutout template, and grilles simplify installation, while the formed-steel backcan and fire-rated ABS baffle support use in air-handling spaces.
