The JBL Control 52 Pair is a compact surface-mount satellite loudspeaker system designed to provide high-fidelity mid-high frequency reproduction in subwoofer-satellite installations. Each speaker uses a 60 mm 2.5-inch polypropylene-cone driver featuring a butyl rubber surround, a 19 mm 0.75-inch copper-clad aluminum voice coil, and a vented Nomex former. A secondary bucking magnet improves efficiency, while the copper-sleeved pole piece extends high-frequency response and helps provide more consistent impedance. The discreet design makes the pair suitable for a wide range of commercial environments where quality sound and minimal visual impact are important.
The Control 52 features 16-ohm impedance and is designed for use with compatible JBL Control subwoofer-satellite systems. Two or four Control 52P satellite speakers can be driven from Control 50S/T pendant subwoofers, Control 60PS/T pendant subwoofers, or Control 40CS/T in-ceiling subwoofers, with system crossover functions handled by the compatible subwoofer. The system can operate from either low-impedance amplification or 70V/100V distributed speaker lines when paired with an appropriate transformer-equipped subwoofer. Its 50W continuous program and 25W continuous pink-noise power handling provide reliable performance for background music and distributed audio applications.
The Control 52 enclosure is constructed from high-impact polystyrene and features a painted zinc-plated metal grille for durable everyday use. The included swivel ball wall-mounting bracket allows each speaker to be angled up to 45° off-axis, providing flexible positioning for different listening areas and installation requirements. Its compact cabinet measures only 4.5 inches high, 3.3 inches wide, and 3.75 inches deep, making it easy to integrate into restaurants, hotels, retail spaces, hospitality venues, and other architectural environments.
