Description
The JBL Control 89MS is an above-ground landscape subwoofer designed to add rich, powerful low-frequency performance to outdoor sound systems. It’s down-firing 8-inch long-throw driver delivers bass extension down to 40 Hz and reaches up to 115 dB peak SPL, making it well suited for lawn, garden, entrance, hospitality, retail, resort, theme park, and sports venue installations.
A built-in low-pass crossover with a dual-slope filter provides a smooth and balanced transition between the subwoofer and full-range landscape speakers. The dedicated subwoofer-band multi-tap transformer supports 70V and 100V distributed systems, while the 8Ω bypass provides direct low-impedance operation for flexible system configurations and amplifier compatibility.
Built for demanding outdoor environments, the Control 89MS features an IP56-rated tough polyethylene enclosure with a fully sealed center wiring chamber. The enclosure is finished in a durable hunter-green color that remains consistent even when scratched, while stainless steel external hardware and a powder-coated stainless steel grille provide additional resistance against weather and corrosion.
