The ProX XC-412-500 (XC412500) is a 500 ft spool of 4-conductor, 12 AWG passive speaker cable with a black PVC jacket, made for audio technicians and installers who build their own speaker and distribution cables. It ships without connectors, so you terminate it with speakON, banana plugs or bare wire to suit the job.
The conductors use a hybrid construction that combines oxygen-free copper (OFC) with copper-clad aluminum (CCA), which keeps the cable weight manageable on long runs. At 12 AWG it handles the current of professional passive speaker systems without excessive voltage drop over distance. The flexible black PVC jacket holds up to repeated coiling and foot traffic and stays low profile on stage.

Does the XC-412-500 come with connectors?
No. It is raw cable on a spool, made for custom termination. ProX sells compatible speaker connectors separately.
What is a 4-conductor speaker cable for?
Four conductors carry two speaker circuits in one jacket, for example a bi-amped cabinet or two passive speakers fed from one run, and they match 4-pole speakON connectors.
Is it pure copper?
No. ProX lists a hybrid OFC/CCA construction, combining oxygen-free copper with copper-clad aluminum.
Can I use it for car audio?
Yes. ProX says the 12 AWG multi-conductor construction also suits high-powered in-vehicle speaker systems.
XC-412-500 or another ProX 12 AWG spool?
All of these are 12 AWG passive speaker cable; the conductor count and spool length change. The XC-412-500 has 4 conductors on 500 ft. The XC-612-500 has 6 conductors on 500 ft, for three circuits in one snake. The XC-212-500 has 2 conductors on 500 ft, for a single speaker circuit. For a smaller job, the XC-412-100 is the same 4-conductor cable on a 100 ft spool.
