Description

The Shure BLX288/B58 (BLX288-B58) is a two-channel analog UHF wireless vocal system for two singers: one BLX88 dual-channel tabletop receiver and two BLX2 handheld transmitters with Beta 58A supercardioid dynamic capsules. Each transmitter runs up to 14 hours on a pair of AA batteries, with up to 300 ft (91 m) of line-of-sight range and 50 Hz to 15 kHz audio frequency response.

Setup is a one-touch scan: press the group button on the receiver, which finds the clearest group and channel for both sides at once, then match each transmitter. Each channel has its own XLR and 1/4 inch output, so the two vocals land on separate mixer channels. The system comes with the BLX88 receiver, two BLX2/B58 transmitters, two microphone clips, a power supply, AA batteries and a user guide. This listing offers Shure's H9 (512 to 542 MHz), H10 (542 to 572 MHz), H11 (572 to 596 MHz) and J11 (596 to 616 MHz) bands.

Can two people sing on it at the same time?

Yes. The BLX88 is two receivers in one housing, with a separate XLR and 1/4 inch output for each channel, so both Beta 58A transmitters work at once and go to their own mixer channels.

How long do the batteries last?

Up to 14 hours per transmitter on two AA alkaline batteries. Total life depends on battery type and maker; the transmitter LED turns red to warn of low battery.

Which frequency band should I choose?

Pick the band that is clearest where you perform. This listing carries H9 (512 to 542 MHz), H10 (542 to 572 MHz), H11 (572 to 596 MHz) and J11 (596 to 616 MHz). The receiver and both transmitters in the box are matched to the band you choose.

How many BLX systems can I run together?

Up to 12 per frequency band, depending on region and the RF environment. Set up each system one at a time, and leave each tuned transmitter on while you scan for the next receiver.

BLX288/B58 or another BLX vocal system?

The BLX288/SM58 and BLX288/PG58 use the same BLX88 two-channel receiver with SM58 or PG58 capsules instead of the Beta 58A. For one singer, the BLX24/B58 pairs one Beta 58A transmitter with the single-channel BLX4 receiver, which measures 1.57 x 7.40 x 4.06 in and weighs 8.5 oz against the BLX88's 12.13 in width and 15.1 oz. The BLX24R/B58 is the single-channel rack-mount version. A spare BLX2/B58 transmitter is sold separately.
