Shure P9RA+ Wireless Bodypack Receiver for PSM 900

The Shure P9RA+ (P9RA plus) is the stereo bodypack receiver for the Shure PSM 900 wireless in-ear monitor system, for performers, monitor engineers and IFB users who need their own mix in their ears. It pairs with P9T and P10T transmitters, stores up to 20 channels with CueMode, and delivers 60 dB stereo separation and 35 Hz to 15 kHz frequency response.

Its hybrid analog/digital design gives more headroom, better stereo separation and higher fidelity than the original P9RA, and an Input EQ "Match" preset makes it sound like the P9RA when you mix old and new packs on one stage. It works with all Shure SE Sound Isolating earphones.

Which band do I need?

The one that matches your PSM 900 transmitter. A P9RA+ only receives within its own band, so a G7 pack (506 to 542 MHz) works with a G7 P9T or P10T, not a G6 or L6 one. Check the band label on your transmitter before ordering.

Does the P9RA+ work with my older P9RA packs and P9T transmitter?

Yes. Every P9RA+ is compatible with P9T and P10T transmitters, and the "Match" Input EQ preset makes it sound like an original P9RA so mixed packs sound consistent.

Can one bodypack hear two mixes?

Yes. MixMode combines two separate audio channels for listening in both ears, with a balance control to set their relative levels, or carries two independent IFB program feeds. CueMode stores up to 20 channels so an engineer can check every performer's mix from one pack.

How do I set up a P9RA+ quickly?

Use Scan and Sync. The bodypack scans the RF environment, finds a clear group and channel, and sends it to the transmitter over an infrared link.

Does it run on rechargeable batteries?

Yes. It takes the Shure SB900B lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which reports remaining life and charge cycle details, or standard AA batteries for 4 to 6 hours of continuous use.

P9RA+ or Axient Digital ADXR?

The P9RA+ is the receiver for the PSM 900 system and its P9T and P10T transmitters, with 20-channel CueMode and 60 dB stereo separation. The ADXR-A is the bodypack for Axient Digital PSM, works with ADTQ and ADTD transmitters, monitors up to 64 encrypted stage mixes with CueMode and lists stereo separation above 115 dB. The two systems do not mix: pick the receiver that matches your transmitter.
