Description
The Shure PGASTUDIOKIT4 (PGA Studio Kit 4) is a four-microphone kit for recording and performing with drums, amplified instruments, acoustic instruments and vocals: one PGA52 kick drum microphone, one PGA57 instrument microphone and two PGA181 side-address condenser microphones, with four 15-foot (4.6 m) XLR cables and a zippered carrying case. The PGA52 covers 50 Hz to 12 kHz, the PGA57 50 Hz to 15 kHz and the PGA181 pair 50 Hz to 20 kHz.
It suits home studios, rehearsal rooms and small live setups that want a ready-made set of Shure microphones and cables instead of four separate purchases.

What can I record with the PGASTUDIOKIT4?
Drums, amplified instruments, acoustic instruments and vocals. The PGA52 is tailored for kick drum and other low-frequency sources, the PGA57 for instruments such as guitar amps, and Shure designed the PGA181 for both instrument and vocal recording.
Are cables included?
Yes. The kit includes four 15-foot (4.6 m) XLR-XLR cables, one for each microphone, plus three clips and a zippered carrying case.
Which microphones in the kit are condensers?
The two PGA181s. They are side-address cardioid condensers with the widest range in the kit, 50 Hz to 20 kHz, and the highest output, -38.00 dBV/Pa. The PGA52 and PGA57 are cardioid dynamic microphones.
PGASTUDIOKIT4 or a PGA drum kit?
The PGASTUDIOKIT4 has 4 microphones and 4 cables, including two PGA181 condensers for instruments and vocals. The PGADRUMKIT5 has 5 microphones and 5 cables: a PGA52, three PGA56 snare and tom microphones with three drum mounts, and a PGA57, so it close-mics a whole drum kit but has no condensers. The PGADRUMKIT7 adds two PGA81 condenser microphones for 7 microphones and 7 cables. The PGA52 and PGA57 are also sold on their own.
