The Solid State Logic SB 8.8 is a versatile 2RU audio interface designed to deliver professional-quality mic and line input/output capabilities in a compact form. It features eight mic/line inputs and eight line-level outputs, making it ideal for medium-scale live or studio setups. The unit is equipped with redundant RJ45 Dante network connections and network extension ports, ensuring reliable and flexible digital audio routing. The front panel of the SB 8.8 provides intuitive feedback through individual signal present, phantom power, and local attention LEDs for each channel. This allows engineers and operators to quickly monitor input status and make adjustments on the fly. Built-in limiters help protect the inputs from overload, while SSL’s innovative AutoPad system automatically applies the appropriate pad based on the gain setting. This ensures the full mic gain range is available at all times, simplifying setup and maintaining optimal signal quality.
For pre-show preparations, the SB 8.8 includes an Audition feature that automatically reduces gain when checking microphone levels.
