The Universal Audio UA-VOLT-4-G2-U Volt 4 Gen 2 is a versatile 12-in/6-out USB audio interface designed to deliver detailed, professional-quality recordings from a compact desktop format. Its two digitally controlled Tone Shaping microphone preamps provide up to 60 dB of gain while adding selectable character to vocals, instruments, and other sources. With 32-bit audio conversion and support for sample rates up to 192 kHz, the Volt 4 Gen 2 captures performances with exceptional detail and clarity.
Expanded Connectivity for Recording & Production
With two microphone/line combo inputs, two additional line inputs, two instrument inputs, four analog outputs, ADAT or S/PDIF optical input, and MIDI In/Out, the Volt 4 Gen 2 provides flexible connectivity for studio production, music creation, podcasting, and live recording setups. ADAT expansion supports up to eight additional channels at 44.1/48 kHz, while S/PDIF provides two optical input channels across supported sample rates. A USB hub adds convenient connectivity for compatible peripherals, while the Smart Display provides clear visual feedback for channel selection, metering, and settings.
Smart Recording Features & Mobile-Ready Design
Auto-Gain helps establish appropriate recording levels quickly, while Clip Protection helps prevent unexpected signal peaks from ruining takes. The full-color Smart Display makes monitoring and adjustment straightforward, and integrated loopback functionality supports podcasting, livestreaming, and content creation. USB bus-powered operation makes the interface convenient for mobile recording without requiring an external power supply in supported setups. The Volt 4 Gen 2 also integrates with UAD software and LUNA while remaining compatible with major DAWs including Ableton Live, FL Studio, GarageBand, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools.
