The Warm Audio 19B is a faithful revival of a highly regarded studio and live dynamic microphone from the 1960s, combining the durability and rejection characteristics of a classic dynamic mic with the clarity and openness more commonly associated with condenser microphones. Designed for both stage and studio use, the 19B delivers a unique tonal balance that brings detail, presence, and controlled low-end response to a wide range of sound sources. From vocals to instruments, it offers a refined dynamic performance that captures sound with natural realism and enhanced articulation.
At its core, the 19B features a custom hand-assembled dynamic cardioid humbucking capsule that provides excellent noise rejection, reduced interference, and minimal proximity effect. Unlike traditional dynamic microphones, it delivers a more open top end and improved transient detail, resulting in richer and more defined recordings. A built-in acoustic high-pass filter ring allows up to 10 dB of low-frequency attenuation at 50 Hz, helping tighten bass response and enhance upper-mid clarity without introducing phase shift commonly associated with external processing. Ventilated side slots further reduce boominess, ensuring controlled low-end response even at close mic distances.
Engineered for maximum versatility in tight recording and live environments, the pencil-style body design of the 19B makes it ideal for complex setups where space is limited, such as drum kits, acoustic instruments, and live multi-mic arrangements. Its advanced humbucking coil design provides exceptional off-axis rejection, especially in the low and low-mid frequencies, minimizing bleed from nearby sources while maintaining a clean, focused sound.
