Description
The Warm Audio WA-MPX is a faithful recreation of the legendary 351-style tape-era tube microphone preamp, designed to capture the unmistakable tone that shaped the birth of rock ’n’ roll and early radio recordings. Known for its rich analog character and musical saturation, the WA-MPX delivers the same vintage-inspired warmth and depth that defined classic recordings from artists such as Elvis Presley, Les Paul, and Bing Crosby, while remaining equally relevant in modern studio production.
Built for exceptional power and tonal flexibility, the WA-MPX delivers up to 300V of operating power and 90dB of tube gain, allowing it to produce both pristine clean amplification and rich harmonic saturation when driven. This wide gain range makes it ideal for shaping everything from subtle vocal presence to heavily saturated analog textures, giving engineers full control over dynamic tone shaping in professional recording environments.
Engineered with premium handwired construction, the WA-MPX features three high-quality tubes per channel paired with custom-wound CineMag USA transformers for authentic vintage response and depth. Its selectable all-analog tape saturation circuitry recreates classic reel-to-reel character at 15 IPS, while onboard hi-pass (80Hz) and low-pass (2kHz) filters allow precise tonal refinement. Carefully hand-tested in Austin, Texas, the WA-MPX delivers true vintage tone with modern reliability for professional studios and serious creators.
