The Whirlwind FM-0-16-XL-W5IRP[O] is designed for efficient stage and studio connectivity, featuring an inline multipin connector on one end and a fully labeled fanout on the other. Each input channel is equipped with WI3M male XLR connectors, while return channels use either WI3F female XLRs or 1/4" TRS connectors, making the system versatile for a variety of audio setups. The black XLRs include large pre-stamped identification numbers to ensure quick and accurate channel recognition during busy setups.

To accommodate different channel counts, the fanouts are offered in standardized lengths. Models with 9 to 28 lines include a 3-foot fanout, while those with 32 or more lines feature a longer 4.5-foot fanout. Importantly, when specifying the total fanout length, this built-in fanout section is included in the measurement. For example, a 32-channel fanout listed at 10 feet consists of a 4.5-foot fanout paired with 5.5 feet of cable and the MASS connector.

For durability and easier handling, Snakeskin is applied to every fanout as a standard feature. This protective layer helps prevent tangling, improves flexibility, and enhances the longevity of the cable assembly.
