The Yamaha XMV4280-D is a high-power, Dante-enabled installation amplifier designed for large venues where long-distance audio networking and flexible system design are critical. Delivering 4 × 280W at 8Ω/4Ω or 4 × 250W on 70V/100V lines, it provides ample output for demanding commercial environments such as auditoriums, convention centers, houses of worship, and large retail spaces. Integrated Dante connectivity over Ethernet ensures clean, reliable audio transport across long cable runs while supporting modern networked audio systems.
Engineered to simplify complex installations, the XMV4280-D can operate high-impedance and low-impedance outputs simultaneously, removing the need for external transformers or multiple amplifiers. Each pair of channels can be independently set for 70V or 100V operation, and Yamaha’s Double Power Mode allows selected channels to deliver up to 560W to drive higher-power loudspeakers. This flexibility makes it possible to power speakers with different output requirements from a single amplifier, reducing rack space and overall system complexity.
At the core of the XMV4280-D is an advanced Class-D amplifier design with over 90% efficiency, combined with a PFC-equipped switching power supply for stable output and reduced current draw. Comprehensive protection circuits guard against low-impedance loads, overcurrent, and overheating, ensuring dependable long-term operation. Support for Dante Domain Manager, AES67, and Dante Device Lock, along with seamless integration with Yamaha MTX/MRX processors, Ethernet-based external control, and built-in redundancy modes, makes the XMV4280-D a powerful, secure, and future-ready solution for professional installed sound systems.
