The Yamaha XMV8140-D is a versatile multi-channel power amplifier designed for professional installed sound applications that require both high- and low-impedance connectivity. Delivering 8 × 140W at 8Ω/4Ω, 8 × 125W on 70V/100V lines, and 4 × 280W in Double Power Mode, it allows the simultaneous operation of high- and low-impedance speakers without additional transformers or amplifiers. Each pair of channels can be independently assigned to 70V or 100V operation via rear-panel DIP switches, providing maximum flexibility for complex venue configurations. The Double Power Mode enables selected channels to deliver twice the output, powering speakers with higher demands while optimizing system design.
Equipped with Yamaha’s YDIF digital audio format and Audinate’s Dante network connectivity, the XMV8140-D supports long-distance digital audio transmission, making it ideal for large venues. Dante Domain Manager, AES67 compatibility, and Dante Device Lock further enhance network security and expandability, while seamless integration with MTX/MRX series processors allows precise control of settings such as mute and attenuation via the MTX-MRX Editor software. These features simplify installation and provide professional-grade configurability for multi-zone and large-scale audio systems.
Built for reliability and efficiency, the XMV8140-D features a patent-pending Class-D amplifier circuit achieving over 90% efficiency, paired with a PFC-equipped switching power supply for stable power delivery. Intelligent protection circuits guard against low load impedance, overcurrent, and overheating, ensuring long-term durability.
