The Yamaha XMV8280 is a high-performance multi-channel power amplifier designed for professional installed sound applications. Delivering 8 × 280W at 8Ω/4Ω, 8 × 250W at 70V/100V, and 4 × 560W in Double Power Mode, it allows flexible operation for venues requiring both high- and low-impedance connectivity. Each pair of channels can independently operate at 70V or 100V via rear-panel DIP switches, while the Double Power Mode doubles output on selected channels to drive speakers with higher power demands. This ensures maximum adaptability for complex systems, allowing speakers with varying capacities to operate simultaneously without additional transformers or amplifiers.
Equipped with Yamaha’s YDIF digital audio format and compatibility with Audinate Dante networks, the XMV8280 supports large-scale audio installations with long-distance cabling. Integration with Dante Domain Manager, AES67, and Dante Device Lock enhances system security and expandability, while seamless communication with MTX/MRX series processors enables precise control of settings such as mute and attenuation via the MTX-MRX Editor software. These features provide fast, reliable configuration and connectivity for multi-zone and large-venue installations.
The XMV8280 is engineered for efficiency and reliability, featuring a patent-pending Class-D amplifier circuit achieving over 90% efficiency and a PFC-equipped switching power supply for stable power delivery. Intelligent protection circuits guard against low load impedance, overcurrent, and overheating, ensuring long-term durability. Additional capabilities, including per-channel source selection, Backup and Override modes, and Ethernet-based external control, make this amplifier ideal for professional environments where performance, flexibility, and safety are critical.
