The Yamaha XMV8280-D is a professional multi-channel power amplifier designed for large-scale installations and venues requiring long-distance audio distribution. Delivering 8 × 280W at 8Ω/4Ω, 8 × 250W at 70V/100V, and 4 × 560W in Double Power Mode, it allows flexible operation for both high- and low-impedance connectivity without the need for separate amplifiers or external transformers. Each pair of channels can independently operate at 70V or 100V via rear-panel DIP switches, while the Double Power Mode doubles the output on selected channels, providing the power necessary to drive speakers with higher output requirements. This versatility ensures seamless integration in complex multi-zone systems.
Equipped with YDIF digital audio and full compatibility with Audinate Dante networks, the XMV8280-D supports large venues where long-distance cabling is required. It also supports Dante Domain Manager, AES67, and Dante Device Lock, enhancing system security and scalability while preventing unauthorized changes to networked audio settings. Integration with MTX/MRX series processors enables quick control over settings like mute and attenuator adjustments via the MTX-MRX Editor software, allowing instant connectivity and flexible system management for professional audio installations.
Designed for maximum efficiency and reliability, the XMV8280-D features a patent-pending Class-D amplifier circuit with over 90% efficiency and a PFC-equipped switching power supply, reducing energy loss and minimizing current draw.
