DAS Audio ALTEA-S15A, 15-Inch Powered Class D Subwoofer - Black

The DAS Audio ALTEA-S15A (ALTEA S15A) is a compact 15-inch powered bass-reflex subwoofer for portable PA, DJ and live sound systems. A Class D amplifier delivers 600 W RMS (1200 W peak) to a DAS 15FW4 woofer, for up to 131 dB maximum SPL and a 40 Hz to 125 Hz frequency range.

The 15FW4 woofer has a 3-inch voice coil and a die-cast aluminum basket for high excursion and is rated at 600 W AES. An optimized ventilation system lets it run at a high sustained load with very little power compression. The amplifier uses a wide-range switching power supply.

The integrated DSP is set from the DAScontrol LCD display and encoder on the rear panel. It offers adjustable crossover frequencies, two sound presets (deep and loud), and cardioid presets that let several ALTEA-S15A units work together to cut the bass energy sent to the rear. Two XLR inputs with two XLR loop-thru outputs feed your tops, and powerCON in and out links AC power.

The cabinet is birch plywood finished in DAS's rugged ISOflex PU coating, with a powder-coated front grille. Two side handles make it easy to carry, and the cabinet is prepared for mounting rear wheels.
