The DiGiCo X-SD-RACK-O is a professional SD-Rack configured with OpticalCON Optocore connectivity. It provides a flexible, high-capacity I/O platform for DiGiCo SD and compatible systems. With 14 interface card slots, the rack supports up to 56 inputs and 56 outputs. Its modular architecture allows engineers to configure the rack for different analogue and digital formats. OpticalCON Optocore Connectivity
The X-SD-RACK-O uses OpticalCON Optocore connectivity to provide high-channel-count digital audio transport over long distances. The optical loop architecture allows multiple racks and consoles to operate together within a unified network. Engineers can distribute inputs and outputs throughout large production environments while minimizing cable requirements. The system supports scalable network configurations for complex shows. Its optical infrastructure provides reliable signal transmission and flexible routing. This makes it particularly well suited to large touring and broadcast systems.
High-Resolution Audio
The SD-Rack supports high-resolution analogue I/O conversion up to 192kHz for demanding professional applications. Based on DiGiCo's Stealth FPGA technology, it delivers the processing performance required for high-quality digital audio distribution. At 96kHz, the rack can provide a full 56-channel MADI connection across its dual MADI ports. It can also provide a downsampled 48kHz MADI feed for applications such as broadcast splits. This makes the rack highly adaptable to different system requirements. Engineers can maintain excellent audio quality across the entire signal chain.
Flexible I/O Expansion
Fourteen card slots provide extensive flexibility for configuring the X-SD-RACK-O around specific production requirements. Compatible interface cards support formats including MADI, AES/EBU, Dante, AES-42, ADAT, and Aviom. Users can select the appropriate combination of analogue and digital connectivity for their system. Interface cards are hot-swappable and automatically identified and configured. This simplifies system expansion and reduces maintenance time. The modular design allows the rack to evolve with changing production needs.
Gain Tracking Technology
DiGiCo Gain Tracking allows multiple consoles on the same optical loop to independently control their mixes without compromising other engineers' settings. Once analogue gain is established, connected consoles can use digital gain compensation of up to ±40dB. If analogue gain adjustments are required, the system automatically compensates the affected channels to maintain consistent mixes. Engineers can therefore share stage inputs without constantly interfering with one another. This is especially valuable for touring productions and broadcast environments. The technology provides exceptional flexibility in multi-console setups.
