The JBL Control 28-1L-WH Pair is a high-output two-way loudspeaker system designed to deliver rich sonic character, broad coverage, and consistent performance for background and foreground music, paging, and speech applications. Each speaker features an 8-inch woven-fiberglass woofer with a pure butyl rubber surround and Weather-Edge frame protection, paired with a 1-inch PEI diaphragm tweeter using low-viscosity ferro-magnetic fluid and a lightweight Kapton voice coil former. Its broad 45 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and contemporary high-design appearance make the pair suitable for retail stores, restaurants, health clubs, theme parks, educational facilities, hospitality venues, music cafes, leisure spaces, and other commercial environments.

The Control 28-1L-WH provides 100° horizontal by 100° vertical coverage, 91 dB sensitivity, and 240W continuous program power with 120W continuous pink-noise power in direct 8-ohm operation. Its optimized crossover combines second-order low-pass, first-order high-pass, and conjugate shaping for smooth frequency response and high-fidelity reproduction. A recommended 45 Hz high-pass filter at 24 dB per octave helps protect the loudspeaker from operation below its resonant frequency. The direct 8-ohm configuration makes the Control 28-1L a flexible choice for high-output commercial audio systems.

Designed for demanding indoor and outdoor installations, the Control 28-1L uses a high-impact polystyrene enclosure with 10% glass fill and a zinc-plated grille finished with durable TGIC polyester powder coating. The included InvisiBall wall-mounting system provides flexible aiming and installation, while two 6 mm attachment points support the optional MTC-28UB-1 U-bracket and a secondary safety attachment loop provides additional installation security. The speaker provides IP-44 outdoor capability and can achieve IP-55 protection with the optional WeatherMax grille and protective panel covers. Environmental resistance exceeds MilSpec 810 requirements for humidity, salt spray, temperature, and UV exposure, with additional salt-spray and acid-air testing for demanding environments.
