The Shure GLXD14+/SM31-Z3 (GLXD14+ SM31, GLX-D+ with SM31FH) is a dual-band digital wireless headset system for fitness instructors, presenters and spoken word, pairing the moisture-resistant SM31FH cardioid condenser headset with a GLXD1+ bodypack and a GLXD4+ tabletop receiver. It operates in both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, runs up to 12 hours on the included SB904 rechargeable battery, and the SM31FH covers 45 Hz to 20 kHz.
Automatic frequency management picks a clear channel and moves away from interference without interrupting the audio, so setup is a matter of linking the transmitter and adjusting gain from the receiver. The SM31FH uses hydrophobic materials that repel sweat and moisture, which is why Shure builds it for aerobics and fitness classes, and its TA4F (TQG) connector fits any Shure wireless bodypack.

Who is the GLXD14+/SM31 for?

Does it work alongside Wi-Fi and other wireless systems?
Yes. It runs in both the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands and automatically moves away from interference without an audio dropout. Shure rates up to 4 systems typical and 8 optimal together; for best results keep the receiver at least 10 feet away from Wi-Fi access points and computers.
How long does the battery last and how does it charge?
Up to 12 hours per charge from the included SB904 lithium-ion battery. You can charge it in the bay built into the GLXD4+ receiver or over USB-C, and the receiver shows remaining battery life in hours and minutes.
Can I use a different microphone with this system later?
Yes. The GLXD1+ bodypack takes any Shure TA4F (TQG) headset or lavalier microphone, and the WA302 instrument cable (sold separately) turns it into a guitar or bass system.
GLXD14+/SM31 or GLXD14+/SM35?
Both use the same GLXD1+ bodypack and GLXD4+ tabletop receiver; the difference is the headset. The SM31FH in this system is built for sweat and speech, covers 45 Hz to 20 kHz and weighs 2.1 oz (60 g). The GLXD14+/SM35-Z3 uses the SM35 performance headset for singers and multi-instrumentalists, with a tight cardioid pattern for loud stages, at 2.53 oz (72 g).
