Description

The Teenage Engineering PO-28 robot (PO28) is a pocket-size live synthesizer and sequencer with 8-bit synth engines: 15 sounds plus a micro drum kit, 16 punch-in effects and parameter locks. It has a built-in speaker and runs on two AAA batteries.

Play it live on the 16 keys or sequence it: store 16 patterns and chain up to 128 of them into a song. The punch-in effects include distortion, repeat, filters, fill-ins, glitches and noise, and a 3.5 mm jam sync connection links it to other Pocket Operators.

What is the PO-28 robot for?

Playing 8-bit synth leads live. It combines live playing and sequencing, so you can play over a running pattern, and it has a micro drum kit for a basic beat.

PO-28 robot or PO-20 arcade?

The PO-28 is built for live-played leads, with 15 sounds plus a micro drum kit. The PO-20 arcade is built for writing melodies and chord progressions, with up to 128 chords in a song. Both chain up to 128 patterns.

Can it sync with other Pocket Operators?

Yes. Connect them with a 3.5 mm cable and they play in time, passing audio through the chain. Pair it with a PO-12 rhythm for drums.

Does the PO-28 need a case?

Not to work, but the CA-X silicone pro case protects the batteries and adds anti-slip feet, pro-feel buttons and a neck strap. It fits every Pocket Operator.
