The Yamaha HS7I is a 2-way bass-reflex, bi-amplified nearfield studio monitor engineered for absolute accuracy in mixing and music production. Featuring a 6.5" cone woofer and a 1" dome tweeter, it delivers a precise frequency response of 43Hz–30kHz (-10dB) and 55Hz–24kHz (-3dB). Staying true to Yamaha’s renowned reference monitor philosophy, the HS7I reproduces sound without coloration, providing a flat, honest sonic image that allows engineers to make confident mix decisions.
Newly Developed Transducers for Superior Clarity
The HS7I is equipped with newly developed transducers designed to achieve exceptionally smooth response across a wide bandwidth. The highly efficient 1" dome tweeter uses a thick waveguide to minimize vibration and deliver clean, distortion-free highs up to 30kHz. The ultra-responsive 6.5" woofer utilizes large, carefully selected magnets and optimized components to produce tight, controlled low frequencies with clear and accurate midrange definition at any output level.
High-Performance Bi-Amp System and Low-Resonance Cabinet
A dedicated bi-amp system powers the HS7I, delivering 60W to the low frequencies and 35W to the high frequencies for a total of 95W of high-performance amplification. The amplifier is precisely matched to the transducers to ensure consistent, high-resolution sound with an exceptionally flat response. The low-resonance MDF enclosure, reinforced with a traditional three-way mitered-joint construction, effectively eliminates unwanted vibrations and resonance, preserving sonic accuracy even at higher listening levels.
Flexible Installation, Controls, and Connectivity
Designed for versatile studio environments, the HS7I includes mounting points on four surfaces, making it suitable for wall, ceiling, or baton installations. ROOM CONTROL and HIGH TRIM response controls allow precise adjustment to compensate for room acoustics and speaker placement. For connectivity, XLR and TRS phone jack inputs accept both balanced and unbalanced signals, ensuring seamless integration with mixers, audio interfaces, and other professional studio equipment.
